Runs at the Rodeo
The 3rd Annual Rodeo By The River motorcycle rally is introducing
two runs this year. To make them more interesting, we're giving away a chunk
of change for them as well.
Saturday, March 15, 2008. The first run
is good for $5000. That's
$3000 for first place, $1000 for second place, $500 for third place, $300 for fourth
and $200 for fifth. That's right, we're paying five places. Registration
for the run begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and continues until 9 a.m. The
run itself ends at noon.
This will be a Puzzle Run. It's similar to a poker run,
but just different enough to make it interesting. Unlike a poker run, where
you can be finished with the second stop (draw a deuce of hearts at one and a king
of spades at another -- why go on?), with a puzzle run you're in the game right
up until the end and it's in your best interest to hit every stop.
At each of the ten stops you'll get a puzzle piece. Bring
them all back to the Rodeo! When the run ends, we'll have a completed jigsaw
puzzle on the stage. We'll grab someone from the crowd and give them a dart.
They'll throw the dart at the puzzle and whoever has the puzzle piece that matches
the one hit by the dart is the winner. It's actually less complicated than
it sounds.
For the Saturday run, we'll be mainly in Havasu. Stops
include Desert Thunder Customs, Desert Lightning MC Apparel, The Golden Horseshoe,
Tile Etc., Twisted Metal Cycle Shop, The Office Cocktail Lounge, Scraps Dog Bakery,
The IHOP, London Bridge Liquors and AZ West Powersports.
Sunday, March 16, 2008. The second run
is good for $2500. That's
$1500 for first, $500 for second, $250 for third, $150 for fourth and $100 for fifth.
Registration begins Sunday at 10 am (after the pancake breakfast, morning service
and blessing of the bikes) and continues until 11. The run ends at 2 pm.
Stops for Sunday include Mexidona, The Office Cocktail Lounge,
Golden Horseshoe, Chilis and Chuy's.
Check back often for updates as they occur.
